StreakDroid 2.0.0 gives the gift of Gingerbread to Streak hackers

If you've been following along, you know that a phone enthusiast named DJ_Steve has kept the Dell Streak fresh, thanks to a series of hacked ROMs, dubbed StreakDroid. The latest version, 2.0.0 (or GingerStreak, if you're feeling cute) brings Gingerbread to the 5-inch smartphone -- expanding on the last ROM, which gave hackers the option of selecting Gingerbread's app launcher. As always, though, dear Steve has noted a handful of bugs in the ROM's early stages, including issues with the Superuser app, less-than-stellar graphics performance, and the fact that both GPS and 720p video recording require an engineering baseband and DSP to be flashed. As of this writing, all of the comments are from Streak owners eager to download this for themselves. We assume you are, too, so let us know how the new ROM works out for ya.

Dell XPS 15z coming tomorrow for $999?

The thinnest 15-inch laptop "on the planet" is coming tomorrow, costing a measly $999, according to the Wall Street Journal. In a profile of Dell's recent history and forthcoming plans in the consumer electronics market, the financial paper twice makes reference to an ultrathin, $999 laptop that is set to launch on Tuesday of this week. Pairing that intel with the abundance of leaks surrounding the slinky 15.6-inch XPS 15z -- including a Michael Dell tweet promising it's "coming soon" -- leads us to the conclusion that we've finally gotten ahold of the price and date for Dell's next big thing. Interestingly enough, the WSJ article goes on to say that Dell had canned a similar set of slim laptops earlier in the year, which might give us greater hope for the quality of the 15z -- it survived where others didn't.

Other disclosures in the piece include a quote from Michael Dell, saying that he "didn't completely see" the tablet boom coming, which might explain why sales of his company's Streak tablets have been low enough to be described as "immaterial." Dell Streak Pro Honeycomb tablet pictured, likely to be with us in June

Android Honeycomb OS, 10-inch screen size with 1280 x 800 resolution, and NVIDIA's Tegra 2 (T20) chip on the inside. If those specs sound familiar, it's because most manufacturers already have a tablet just like Dell's upcoming Streak Pro. This slate from Round Rock got us a little hot under the collar recently, when it appeared it would ship with the T25 Tegra 2 silicon -- which runs at 1.2GHz and offers 3D support -- but nope, it's same old, same old from Michael and company. Still, the Streak Pro will apparently come will a brushed aluminum back, 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB storage options, dual mics, dual cameras (2 megapixel on the front, 5 megapixel 'round back), and a choice of four colors: blue, pink, black, and red. If that's not enough customization for you, Dell's also adding its Stage UI atop Android, while support for AT&T's LTE network is also said to be under consideration. Dell Streak 7 Goes head to head Samsung Galaxy Tab and Apple iPad

A little while ago Dell launched a 7 inch version of Dell streak which gives a great competition to Samsung Galaxy Tab and Apple iPad. The 7" version of Dell Streak is better than the previous and smaller 5" version in many aspects. Dell Streak 7 is also a complete multimedia device and an amazing eReader.

The Dell Streak 7 has a very Stylish Design with plastic back and has only three buttons Home, Menu and Back. The Display on the other hand is not that good. Its slightly low resolution and there is some loss of brightness when viewed from sides. For anybody who likes listening to music, reading books and news or watching videos Dell Streak 7 is a perfect tool because its efficient in all the above fields.
Except the display all the other features like Web Browsing, Gaming, Performance, User Interface are good enough, the User interface of Dell Streak 7 is slightly slower than LG Optimus 2X. The web browsing feature is better because it has in-built flash support so you can visit flash sites also and as it has Android 2.2 it has many more features. The battery life is also quiet good and its consumption depends on how you use the Streak.

Dell's new strategy in Market

March 20th, 2011 : Dell is using a new strategy to sell their Streak mini Tablet to their customers in the United States computers market. The well known company is giving Streak mini Tablet to their customers for $ 99 to its customers who are buying laptop of desktop worth $ 699 or more.

Further for the purpose that the device could be used by other networks it is also unlocked. There can be one of two reason for this scheme either Dell wants to empty their inventory for the new model or Streak is not selling well in the US market. Whatever the reason is its a great opportunity for those  who are looking forward to buy laptops or desktops.
