Review : Pro Evolution Soccer 3DS

This year the famous Konami game is on 3DS platform. Let's now see its features.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3DS provides only two game modalities: the UEFA Champions League and the Master Contest. The game is the same as ever: once choosing a football team you'll have to play matches, winning points and trade with other teams.
The trade system is simple and quick: you only have to choose a football player, select a monthly payment and make your bid. Winning will keep the friendship with the team high, while losing will make your relationship become difficult and you'll also lose popularity. Having a high popularity improves the chances to do a good trade.
The online component is totally absent, and that's a bad point, since even the "old" DS console has a good online device. This game allows you to play matches only with your friends via local wireless, and not with anyone in the world. In addition, the modality roster is poor.
These lacks make the game a not really good debut of Pro Evolution Soccer in the 3DS console. Anyway, if you liked the precedent episodes, you won't dislike this one, since the gameplay is the same of all the past versions.

Just hope that the future episodes will be better than this one.

Review : Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive

Whether you like it or not, the Manga of the young ninja has fascinated millions of readers from all the world. That's why I don't understand the decision of Namco Bandai of re-inventing the story. I think that most of the Naruto fans won't like this particular choice.
But since the story is good anyway, that's not a great matter.
In this game whe find Naruto who is searching unknown enemies who have kidnapped some people of the Konoha village. Without spoiling, I'll only say that he will create a team of four ninja in order to search the disappeared people.
The single player modality is disappointing, since the Artificial Intelligence of the enemies is poor and you only have to press a button to hit them again and again.
The things grow interesting in the multiplayer modality, when you can play with your friends. The high number of players allows you to invent more strategies. Anyway, this is only one good feature.
I don't know if the audience will like this game...

The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile Xbox 360

Since they're really few, I'll start with the critics: the characters are all similar one to each other and their stories are not complex as I wished. Done.
Now, let's start from the gameplay. The game brings many innovations, adding to the precedent amount of weapons and techniques new features. Every battle is a great lovely dance of destruction: the moves are fluid, and the animation is excellent. The player disposes of many weapons, and has the possibility to switch them in every occasion and easily. Their variety allows you to choose how to kill your enemy, depending on your taste. The gameplay is in a typical splatter way, that makes the atmosphere more dark.
And now we come to the style: the first Dishwasher had a dark, sinister, macabre and gore look, that has improved in "Vampire Smile". The player finds himself in a psychotic world of horror and madness. Though the story is simple, it's well managed. And the entering of a female character adds something new to the series.
The graphic level is very high, the ambientation is perfect and the game in general is entertaining,
In short: a great success! There's more on Gamespot.com

SPLINTER CELL 3DS : A DELUSION BY EVERY SIDE

Someone could think that after the flop of the gameboy version in 2005 the Splinter Cell Saga would grow improved, and that the new technologies of which the Ubisoft disposes could do better in this occasion, but I must say that the only interesting thing of Splinter Cell 3DS is the story.

We find Sam Fischer in a new mission: that of finding a disappeared computer programmer who was working on mass algorithms. The game is an old-style spy story, but all is ruined by some lacks.
The whole mission has to be done walking in the dark without being seen, but the artificial intelligence of the enemies is very low, and they are easy to kill. The mini-games are very simple too: to open a door has never been so easy.
The game graphic is disappointing; the only interesting things come from the 3D effect.
The sound effects and the soundtrack are simply not good enough, and the game doesn’t have the multiplayer modality.
Though it takes a long time to complete, Splinter Cell 3D is not satisfying, and cannot compete with the first episode of the saga.

LEGO STAR WARS III: THE CLONE WARS - THE FORCE FLOWS STRONGLY IN THE LEGO BLOCKS

The guys from the Telltale Games go back to the origins with the Lego blocks, willing to always improve themselves. Every fan of the precedent Telltale productions will find the strongholds of the typical gameplay in this sequel, whose story is inspired to the cartoon saga “The Clone Wars” and some part of the last trilogy.
The game presents many good innovations, like much more combat sessions and many new weapons. Anyway, classical features like the “Puzzle Solving” are still present.
But there are some bad sides: for example, it is difficult to understand what you have to do to go on in the game, and you have to continue anyway under the fire of the enemies. This lack ruins the new goals of the Telltale guys. Anyway, the dynamic of the game is funny and good. The graphic level is very improved in comparison with the precedent chapter, but, after all, what really makes Lego Star Wars III a good game are the classical elements of the saga, like puzzle solving, action phases and finding secrets.

Review : Killzone 3

After having let all the fans amazed by the second episode of the saga, Guerrilla Games has released Killzone 3. Let’s see what news it brings.
The first part of the game is used as a pretext to introduce as a flashback what happened after the end of Killzone 2. The story covers a period of six months, and if the world is change, the characters anren’t going to do the same. Both protagonists and antagonist improve and strengthen their ideals. But this good verve soon overcomes the narration, and the result is a game with a great cinematographic impact but also very linear.
Anyway, the game has a good gameplay, and the graphic effects are really good. The sound effect and soundtrack are both well done, and the longevity of the game is high.
The only critic I can do is that the game lacks of originality, but since this is a very little lack, I think it’s better not to consider it.

Review : Dead Space 2

When, in Jenuary, Dead Space 2 was distributed, it carried the wage of great expectations from the accompagnarepublic. The first chapter of this saga had started a new kind of Survival Horror games, and Dead Space 2 had to be better than it, without beginning a mere action game like many other games had done.
The result is amazing: the game is disturbing and scary, and surely it is one of the better Horror Games since the last ten years!
The plot is rich of unexpected events, the characters are obsessed by the Mark, while the Unitologists worship it as a divine symbol and the Government looks at it as a power source. But for Isaac Clarke it’s also a scar in his mind. The whole game is set in a more psychological way than the first chapter: now Clarke has to fight against the nightmares of his past.
The fear sensation of the first chapter is untouched: the player does never feel safe, and is always accompanied by anxiety.
The Control System is better then in the first chapter, and as there are new kinds of weapons, there are also more Necromorphs. An example are the “Hunters”, raptor-like monsters who hide behind containers and colonnades and come out to attack you and then going back into the darkness. This, mixed with classical horror elements like narrow corridors, scary sights and disturbing rumors, makes the game a perfect horror action experience for every player.
